The big day is finally here and I think we are all ready. I am finishing up the pies this morning and getting the ham ready to go in the oven as I head off to Church this evening. As I look around the house, I love seeing all the pretty lights and glitter. However, I love seeing how simple I kept the family room. Just a couple of vignettes and called it good. Sometimes, less is more.
This is where we all gather as a family most of the time. So keeping it simple and uncluttered seems to work best.
When we come home from Church my daughter and I will finish up dinner while the guys snack and visit. They”ll probably turn on the TV too. Seems it is always on when the guys are around.
After dinner, we’ll all head into the living room to have our “Santa”. Our group will be small this year. Just 6 of us. My daughter, two sons, and their mates. I am so grateful that we can be together and hope next year we will be able to have the “big family” Christmas like usual.
We exchange all of our gifts on Christmas Eve. Christmas day they spend with their own children and in-laws. There’s always a lot of family to visit.
After dinner back to the kitchen and family room for coffee, pie and tons of fun and laughter. My favorite thing is to watch them all together and how they laugh and chatter just like they did when they were little.
I hope you get to spend Christmas with your family and I hope this Christmas you are all Healthy and Happy. My prayer is for next year to have this virus gone and our world back to some sort of normal. Maybe next year we can all have those big family Christmas get-togethers that we love so much.
Merry Christmas

doesn’t it.
Hope the New Year will be a much better one than last year
even tho it did have it’s blessings too…….just a bit harder to find
for sure.
Merry Christmas Hon, thinking of you and praying for you.
Love your decoration! It’s common to see red and green in Christmas, and I always want something different. Thank you for the inspiration!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Christmas greetings, Marty, from the UK. Enjoy your family time even though it will be difficult without the ‘special one’ this year.
As someone wrote about 2020 – “The year upon which no one will look back fondly”!! I’m sure we will all agree on that.
XoX
Your Christmas decor is beautiful and I too like the simpler approach. We are in the process of moving to Texas so our Christmas was very different this year. Joyful, but different.
