$50.00 Powder Room Makeover Reveal. For such a tiny room, this really gave me a run for my money. Finally, I am thrilled to share the Powder Room Makeover Reveal. If you have been following me for a while, you know I like clean classic lines and decor. A bit Traditional and a bit Contemporary. I wanted to keep this makeover really budget-friendly, I set a budget of $50.00 and spent $50.78. So I call this staying in budget.
I love how this room turned out.
So let’s start off with a pic of what I was working with. This is a nice size space and very typical of most powder rooms. The pedestal sink is on the right in a recessed area with the toilet straight ahead as you enter the room. When we moved in we added beautiful new floors and baseboards. I added a few accessories and called it good. It has basically stayed the same for the last 4 years since we bought the house. Time for a makeover.
Every room in my home is painted Swiss Coffee from top to bottom. I love this color and it looks amazing in my home. When I decided that I needed to give the powder room a little makeover, I thought I would use a stencil, or paint some wallpaper pattern. There are so many fabulous painted wallpaper designs that I see all of you do, so I wanted to try one too. Major problem, our walls are heavily textured. No stencil or painted wallpaper for me, too many lumps and bumps. You can see my problem in my Powder Room Saga post here.
After all the tedius painting to get clean lines on those really bumpy walls, I finally had a feature wall that I loved. (Getting a straight line around all the bumps was no easy task.)
I decided on this as my inspiration for the room. Love the painted accent wall and clean line accessories.
Now on to the accessories. I wanted to keep a piece of art I was already using and find a companion piece to add to the feature wall.
I found the perfect piece on Etsy and downloaded it. I already had a frame, so everything was ready to go.
I ordered a shelf from Home Depot and got it installed. Now I was ready to dig through my stash and accessorize. That is always the fun part.
DRUM ROLL – – – – HERE IS THAT WALL NOW
I am so glad I stuck with it and got that wall done, I love how the bathroom turned out. This feature wall is perfect.
All of the accessories are things I had in my stash. They all worked so well to give this little room a ton of style.
The sink area is the same as it always was. I kept this picture too because I really like it. A touch of old-world with my modern.

Marty, this looks so good! A really nice change and I suspect you smile each time you enter this room, knowing the challenges you faced with the textured walls and then the final result. Looks like a designer was sitting on your shoulder!
Looks great Marty – this is what I envisioned there. I can see a black and white rug on the floor to tie everything together. Great job!
WOW, Marty!!! How beautiful this powder room is now! I’m sure your guests will appreciate this whenever you have visitors. It is absolutely lovely. Congratulations!
Hi Marty,
I love this and only $50.78 that is amazing. Great job.
Gorgeous! Running to my powder room now to see if I can do some of your wonderful ideas!
Beeutiful Friend! Love it! How many times have you walked by this room taking it all in and smiling? I do that when accomplishing something as great as this! =)
I just love this Marty and especially love that you have inspired me to work on my powder room with a very doable budget. Great job! What color is the dark color?
The color of the dark wall is Iron Ore that I had remixed with a bit of white to create a really dark charcoal.
Wow, Marty! For a mere $50 that new space REALLY packs a punch! You took it from really good to amazing.
Well done, ma’am! I know it wasn’t easy to do. But you DID IT!!!! Whoo hoo!
Just lovely! Perfection! You even created better balance by moving the functional pieces on the floor together. Not a detail got past you!
$50 well spent Marty!!! I love the impact of the focal wall and the total transformation. This will make everyone want to create a focal wall:)
I think it looks great! And as an added bonus, you cannot even see the vent any more. Good job (:
I feel your pain with those heavily textured walls. Ours are the same way. I love your powder room makeover! Thanks for the inspiration!
Marty, you have so much vision! And so artistic! Imma gonna call you!
WOW! Great job, Marty – and the price is spot on! 😉
All the hassles of painting the wall certainly paid off. Congrats on a job WELL DONE!
This looks great! Well done!
LOVE the dark wall and the shelf/art combo. Such an updated space for little money. Great job!

Looks fantastic.

Just beautiful Marty. A perfect balance with great color and decor.
But, inquiring minds want to know what is the piece that looks like a doughnut ? I like the brown in the mix.
We had complete faith you could do it and it would be outstanding.
It’s just a decorative wood piece that looks like a wood donut on a marble stand. I just like the addition of more wood to balance the shelf. Just a fun piece not meant to look like a donut, but a wood sculpture.
HOW BEAUTIFUL! The contrast of light and dark colors really make this pop! This looks
to have cost way more than you actually spent! I LOVE the three pointy things on the wall,
they add a nice visual touch!
It looks amazing! I can’t believe it only cost $50 to do. You did a wonderful job!
Wow! What a difference. That paint and artwork looks really great!
Marty! What a wonderful statement you’ve made in your powder room. It’s amazing what you’ve done with such a small budget. You’ve inspired me to get going on some projects in my house!
Thanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace. I’m featuring you this week!
Gorgeous!!! That texture is really popular in Florida, they call it orange peel. It can be such a pain. You mastered it though!!!! Great job!
