It’s the first Saturday of January, and I’m joining my Cozy Living friends to share cozy living ideas for the month! Be sure to check the end of this post, you’ll find links to the other cozy living ideas that my friends are sharing. A special thanks to Jennifer from Town and Country Living who hosts this series each month. The weather has really changed, so I thought it was time to cozy things up for my Winter Master Bedroom. We’ve been having such a mild and warm winter, then all of a sudden Mother Nature had a change of plans. Things are getting cold for us. Now I’ve lived in the mountains of Oregon where we had snow measured in feet not inches for months at a time, so I know cold. In the desert where we are able to survive temps of 115 to 120 degrees, when the temps get down to the 30’s at night and a high of 50ish, then we are cold. Out come the sweaters and coats and we bundle inside and turn on the heat. Time to cozy up the house, especially the bedroom. Furniture doesn’t move around, but pillows and accessories do. I brought out some fur to make this space feel warmer and cozier. My antelope pillows paired with my leopard pillow is a favorite combination. I love how those two fit together. Add a really fun and lush fur throw and this makes the bed feel really cozy. Pulling fur up over you if you take a nap is such a luxury. Always makes me feel so spoiled. I am always asked about our headboard. It is such a fabulous find from Hotel Liquidators for $79.50. You can see how I did a makeover and step by step how I painted it here. It makes such a statement in our bedroom. I’ve kept our dresser really simple. Just a couple of boxes, a picture of Jim and I and a plant. This tufted leather chair adds to the character of our bedroom too. It’s another wonderful thrifted treasure that I found for $100. This will do until the weather warms up again, then I’ll bring on the Spring. Be sure to click on all the links below and see what my friends are sharing.

Marty, I love your headboard. It’s so unique. And I can’t believe you found the tufted chair for just $100. What a bargain! I had to chuckle when you said it feels cold there. Today it’s 5 degrees just outside of Chicago with a wind chill of -9!!! LOL. I hate winter and hope to move somewhere warmer in a few years. 🙂
Sounds like we’ve had a similar Winter here too – very mild here in Alberta until the last couple of weeks, but now we’re making up for it with our daytime highs dropping to -30C (-22F). Oh well, it sure makes for the perfect chance to stay warm and cozy at home. This looks like a perfect space to cozy up Marty! I LOVE the pillow combinations you’ve used! Stay warm my friend!
Very pretty room! Love how those throw pillows look together.
Miss Marty, are you okay ?
Yes, I am fine. I miss Jim every day and wish he was here, but I am fine. You guys are all so loving and caring and that means the world to me. Thank you so much. Marty
I love your cozy room. I adore your pillow combo with the beautiful fur throw, it’s so inviting on a cold winters evening.
I agree, Nothing like a little snooze under a fur blanket!
ps. Hope you are staying warm 😜
I just want to snuggle up under that cozy faux fur blanket!!! Such a beautiful winter retreat!
Marty, I’m so far behind on commenting. LOVE this cozy bedroom. For some reason I find myself drawn to animal prints and faux fur this time of year. What a wonderful thrifted find you tufted chair is! Wow!
