This was my post from last year. This Valentine’s will be another “first” since Jim went to Heaven. This has been the longest and hardest 6 months of my life. Oh, how I would give anything if he was here. My heart is heavy but I have so many wonderful memories of him that I cherish. Be sure to do something special for your loved one and create some memories you will always cherish too.
We don’t usually make a big deal out of Valentine’s, but this year I thought I would create a special table for just the two of us. Romantic Valentines For Two.
We’ve been married 35 years and I am so lucky that he still holds my hand and tells me he loves me every single day. I tend to keep everyday the same, so I thought I would create a special table just for the two of us.
Nothing really fancy, just some pretty flowers, candy hearts and champagne.
He came home with a pretty bag from Chanel, and this cute little box was inside. So I found a pretty box to wrap his present up in.
A quiet dinner, just the two of us and a chance to show him how much I love him.
Be sure to hug your Valentine and make sure to say “I Love You” every day.
Oh my sweet friend this post is so important! We often take those we love for granted. This is a beautiful reminder to cherish the time we have. Hugs to you.
I am so sorry for your loss and all those families who are missing their loved ones who’s lives were cut way too short by COVID. Big hugs from Waco!
What a beautiful post to remind all of us to never take life for granted. It can change on a dime. The firsts are always the hardest. Big hugs to you this year on Valentine’s day. xoxo

Thinking of you, Marty and sending you love…
Thinking of you on this special day.
Very nice table.
Thinking of you, sending you prayers…and thinking of that line from The Princess Bride…”Death cannot kill true love, only delay it.”
Marty,
Something tells me Jim is holding you up on the difficult days and speaking to you with your written words. You are helping so many women with this difficult journey and year of new firsts. Keep sharing your heart I think you blog will reach so many women (and men). laura
This is the sweetest! A simple dinner set up for two, and the love you share through your words. Brought tears to my eyes. I pray you find peace. Will continue to keep you in my thoughts.
Marty, this brings tears to my eyes. Especially right now when me and my four sisters had to make the difficult decision about taking our mom of of the ventilator.
More so for me, because I know she doesn’t know the Lord 🙁
I’m glad to hear you talk about Jim in heaven. It’s such a comfort.
