May means we are really heading into Summer in a big way. It is already warm here in the desert, so for me, summer is full-on. We are not in the 100+ temperatures yet, so it is still great weather to eat outside. I usually have coffee on the patio each morning, but I also love to have lunch with a friend by the pool. Since most of us are still doing some degree of social distancing, having a meal outside is the perfect way to get together and nothing is better than Dining by the pool.
I am thrilled to be joining a group of friends for another Cozy Living Series. All the links will be at the end of this post. Special thanks to Jennifer from Town and Country Living who hosts this series each month for including me. Can you believe it’s already May? It’s the first Saturday of the month which means I’m joining a few of my favorite bloggers to bring you some of the ways we create cozy and warm spaces in our homes.
Dining by the pool is my favorite. With the umbrella up, we get the perfect shade to enjoy a cool breeze and being outdoors. I love setting the table for lunch outside by the pool. With a friend coming over for lunch I thought sitting by the pool with a glass of wine and some pasta salad sounded perfect. Nothing fancy, just a simple tablesetting and good company and conversation.
The shrubs and flowers around the pool are all blooming so beautifully. It really does make a pretty setting.
You don’t have to go all out to make it pretty. Just your favorite outdoor melamine dishes and glassware are perfect. Add a pretty bouquet and candles and you are good to go. Enjoy your surroundings and the company instead of fussing about the table.
The weather is so perfect right now, we can sit here for hours and just enjoy being together and catching up. This past year kept us all apart, so I am loving being able to see friends again.

Oh, your pool area looks so beautiful! I can see why you love spending time out here! Finally things are starting to warm up in New England 😉
All the plantings your husband did around the pool are coming to their prime. I’m sure you think of him every time you are out there have a beautiful summer.
This looks so dreamy, Marty! I imagine you really enjoy spending time out there!
Perfect way to enjoy the nice weather before it’s too hot and miserable. We’re already hitting 90’s some days here in Florida, and the humidity has arrived.
I LOVE your pool area, Marty! It looks so lovely and inviting! I live in Gilbert, so I feel the heat getting ready to drop on us. I’m still enjoying the nice mornings and evenings!

I’m with you dining outside is just the perfect experience. I can’t wait for our Michigan weather to warm up so I can be outside with my hubby and a meal. I have the same melamine dishes and you are right they are perfect for outdoors.
