Company’s coming – time to step up my game a little. I love to entertain and creating a fun tablescape is one of my favorite things to do. As you know if you’ve followed me for a while, I don’t think you have to re-invent the wheel to change things up a bit. To prove that point, I used the casual table setting I had for my 2021 Summer Home Tour and just added a few upscale touches. From Casual to Classic in 10 Minutes.
My living room and dining area are all one long room, so of course, I like for the decor to coordinate. Here is what the room looks like. Soft Tiffany Blue in the living room and dining room linens.
I created this casual coastal-style table for summer. It just looks cool and inviting since we have such hot temperatures here in the desert.
The place setting was really casual.
I have company coming, so I thought I would switch things up a bit and create an elegant classic table. Just a few switches and it looks like a party.
The place settings were all that really changed. I swapped out a gold charger to replace the wicker one. A round plate, salad plate, and pretty flower-shaped bowl replace the octagon plate.
Clear wine glasses instead of the frosted one hold the folded napkin. Placing the napkin in the wine glass always adds a little elegance to any table.
Just a few changes and I went from Casual to Classic in 10 Minutes.
A pretty and inviting table, good food and fabulous friends and this is a party.
How about you, do you like to entertain too?
Marty, what time is the party? =) I love to bake and will bring dessert!
Love how you make this look so easy! The colors have a relaxing vibe too. Hubby and I hardly entertain in all our years of marriage………stuff asked for in a bridal shower eventually goes in a garage sale because it’s not getting used.
What a lovely tablescapes. I like the casual too. Those white bowls are to die for.
Simple little changes can do big things.
Love your style Marty. With the hot AZ sun and temps it is good that you can have a light and casual feel to the rooms. Have a great new week.
Gorgeous! I love your white bowls and flatware.
