My son and I have our birthdays a week apart in August so we got the family together this past weekend for a little party. Not everyone was here, but we had a few of the family and tons of fun and food. I did appetizers and a Taco Bar for dinner, and my daughter made a birthday cake that was soooooo good. We were bad as usual about taking pictures, but I did get a few.
I didn’t get everyone swimming, but I did get my grandson and his friend. They were having so much fun.
Those pool noodles made great swords too.
I tried to get a pic of some of the rest of the family. They didn’t want their picture taken, they had been out by the pool, always need great lifeguards.
Sam is teasing these two and had them in stitches. We were just about ready to bring in the boys and have cake and ice cream. Such a fun day having part of the family here.
Oh and in case you were wondering, I got some beautiful cards, amazing flowers, and some new flatware. It is so pretty. Mine was really getting old and I needed some new, so this was such a thrill. Isn’t it pretty?
I love this silverware tray, so nice to have two levels to hold extras. I got a service for l6 so now I have tons for all our next parties.
As for my age, I am still 39 and some months. haha.

Happy Belated birthday! I think of you often and how you are getting along as I am newly widowed. You seem to have such grace – I know you also have very dark times, as do I. But it looks like you are staying busy and as always, I admire your photos of your beautiful home.

I see the photo in the sidebar of you with your husband. You have my most sincere sympathy in your loss and as you observe the one year anniversary of his Homegoing. (I have about 3 1/2 months yet to go to be to that point)
Clearly the Lord has brought you through it. I know it’s been tough. How can it be anything else, even though we know our men are with Jesus — because they are not physically with us now and their absence is sorely felt. You made a handsome couple. I read somewhere that even if we can’t spend the rest of our earthly life with them, we take comfort that they chose to spend the rest of their lives with us! I like that. I pray the Lord comforts you as only He can.
