I am getting so excited that Fall is right around the corner. Summer in the desert is always really warm, so cooler temperatures and pretty fall colors always warm my heart. Adding fall to the entry is a favorite place to start my decorating. Check out all the Fall Decorating Tips for this month’s Pinterest Challenge.
I am thrilled to be participating in August Pinterest Challenge hosted by Cindy @ Country Road 407. Each month we have a different theme and inspiration picture to inspire us. Our challenge is to create our version of the inspiration picture and theme.
Our inspiration for August comes from Janelle Trinette today. She shared such an inspiring mantel for fall.
Love how she uses pumpkins and such beautiful fall foliage in her vignette.
If you’re coming over from Postcards From The Ridge, welcome. I am sure you love her beautiful mantel as much as I do. Now let’s get to my version of today’s challenge. We don’t have a fireplace, so no mantel. However, I do have a great console in my foyer that I love to change out for the seasons. I am going to use that in place of a mantel for my version of our inspiration.
Since this is the first thing you see when you enter our home, I like to change it out for all the seasons. Today I am adding some of the same elements our inspiration picture had.
The main elements I chose to use from the inspiration pic are dried flowers, pumpkins, and a lantern.
Adding some pretty bud sprigs to dried stems adds a little color to my arrangement. You can find all kinds of pretty stems and dried leaves at the $1 store too. That makes an arrangement so affordable. I’ve had these velvet pumpkins for years. I chose to use only gray and white for this vignette.
Like the inspiration photo, I am using a pumpkin instead of a candle on the candleholder. My brass lantern is filled with a few candles, and some flowers and berries are lying between the candleholder and lantern.
This was a fun inspiration picture to pull ideas from. I love how my console turned out. This gives me ideas for my Fall Decor for the upcoming Fall Home Tour in a few weeks.
