Tips to transition summer into fall. You guys know that I don’t think you always have to reinvent the wheel in order to change a room for the seasons. Sometimes just a few simple additions or subtractions from a room can totally give it a whole new look. When I think of Fall, I usually think about Autumn colors, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and all the beautiful burnt orange, gold, and red colors of the leaves. That doesn’t mean we have to use those colors and nothing else. There are so many ways to use some of our favorite colors and still have the feel and look of fall.
I am thrilled to be joining Amber @ Follow The Yellow Brick Home for Transitioning To Fall Blog Hop. Be sure to check out all the links at the bottom of the post. If you are coming over from Amber’s post welcome. She has such a beautiful home and always inspires me with her talent. Please also say a prayer for her and her family, they have all come down with Covid and are pretty sick.
One of my favorite rooms in our home is the family room. You know I have shown this room a million times, but I love it. It joins the kitchen and breakfast area at the back of the house and is where I spend most of my time. It is where the family gathers most of the time when we all get together, so I like for it to be dressed for the different seasons.
This is how the room has looked for a while. I love the mix of the gray and soft camel. A few simple changes and it can be fall in no time at all.
The main focal point is the sofa wall, so that is where I want to make a few changes to add a touch of fall.
I think a few simple changes can give this room a totally new look. I replaced the two camel pillows with some pretty gold velvet ones and added a pretty gold and white plaid throw blanket.
The coffee table before had my favorite candleholders and a fun succulent plant as the main feature.
I switched out the candles for a small bouquet of fall flowers and a small horse figurine. I kept the basket on the bottom shelf the same.
Just a few simple changes and now I think this room reads early fall.
The living room is another room that I love to change out all the time. It’s been dressed with a color scheme of Tiffany Blue and white all summer.
I love this light and airy color scheme. A couple of changes here and it will look like the beginning of fall too.
I switched out a few pillows. I brought in a Tiffany blue patterned pillow and two rust-colored raffia pillows.
I also replaced the white throw with a heavier off-white one that felt more snuggly.
The coffee table previously was set with coral and a floral design that suggested summer.
Changing out the coral for some pumpkins and antlers began the feel of fall. I tweaked the floral arrangement by adding some Eucalyptus and feathers to give the bouquet more of a fall feeling.
Now both rooms are leaning in the direction of late Summer, early Fall. Simple changes that create the feel of a new season without a major room makeover.
