Finding the right art for a special spot can be a real challenge. Art is subjective and for me really hard. My entrance needed a huge piece of art for the two-story wall above the console. I found something that I liked and did a little DIY to make it fit my room and colors. This is an Easy DIY Art Project that you can do to change up a piece of art to fit your style.
If you have been following along, then you know that I have been using borrowed art over the console in my entrance. I couldn’t find anything that I liked with the right colors, subject matter, and size. I needed Art that would hang vertically, so that was one limitation. It also needed to be at least 36″ wide. Second – I wanted it to be abstract with soft warm colors. Nothing bright or with blues, pinks, red or green. That proved to be really challenging. A lot of abstract art has very bright colors. The third problem was the price. I really didn’t have the budget for a piece that would cost me several hundred dollars.
I finally found a painting that I thought I could revamp with a little bit of DIY. I liked everything except the blue in this painting.
With some craft paints and a little DIY the painting is perfect for my room now. Changing out the console and chair finished off the transformation. Now my entrance is perfect to me.
