Is there anyone who doesn’t love Sugar Cookies? Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies with Vintage Cookies Cutters is a family tradition at our house. My mom gave me this rolling pin and these vintage cookie cutters years ago when my children were born. These are the ones I still use to this day.
These vintage cookie cutters don’t leave as clean an edge as they use to, but these are the shapes my children grew up with and now the shapes that my grandchildren love. How special to get to choose if you want a Santa, Reindeer, Camel, Pony, Angel, or Christmas Tree. There are also some hearts, and other shapes too, but the Christmas ones are always the favorite.
I grew up in a very loving family with very simple and limited means, but my mom always made cookies at Christmas.
No fancy frosting, just sprinkled with sugar, so that is the way I have always made them. Once they are cool, shake off the excess sugar and store in zip lock bags.
As you can see from my recipe card, these have been made a million times, but they are still the best tasting soft sugar cookies you will find.

I have some vintage cookie cutters that were my grandmothers and it brings lovely memories back. Love to make cookies now with my grandgirls and use them. Have a great Friday and wonderful weekend. xoxo
Hi Marty,
Loved your sugar cookies made with those vintage cutters. So cute………..My granddaughter and I made some spritz cookies, I would call them butter cookies really with a cookie press this week, but didn’t look too good but did taste good Thankfully, The dough was just not the right consistency for some reason. lol Anyway, it was fun. We have been watching the Christmas cookie challenge on TV, and it is such a fun show to watch, and some of the
most amazing cookies these folks make.
That is so neat that your Mom passed down her rolling pin and cookie cutters to you when your kids were young, and lovely that you are still making
them every year……….I am sure that is something your whole family looks forward to I would bet.
Hope you are doing okay this Christmas Season…..I am sure it is a bit of a sad time too………..Praying for you hon.
Love and Blessings, Nellie
