I like to go through my closet for the holidays and see what I have that I can wear again this year. I don’t really need to buy any new clothes, at least I don’t think I need anything. With Christmas and New Year almost here, it is so much fun to join in a few activities – parties and lunches with friends and family. Having an Easy Capsule Wardrobe For the Holidays is a must. Shop your closet and put together a few fun outfits that can take you through the Christmas season right into New Year.
Lunch with friends is a special outing that I love. Being able to catch up on what all is going on in everyone’s life is such a treat. We don’t usually go anywhere really fancy, so having a couple of outfits that feel pulled together is all I need.
I think every wardrobe needs a great white silk shirt. This one is amazing. I love to pair it with my suede jacket and a pair of jeans for a really put-together look for any casual outing.
This suede jacket is another piece that I have had for a few years. It is great with jeans or I can dress it up a little with a black turtleneck and black slacks. This can go really casual or a little more dressed up depending on shoes and jewelry.
I love this striped shirt. I’ve had it for several years and it is always a favorite to pull out of the closet. I can wear it alone or use it as a lightweight jacket layered over a shell, tee shirt, or turtle-neck sweater. Either dark jeans or black slacks and I am good to go.
This is the same black turtleneck and black slacks, but this jacket looks a little more dressy. This is still something I could wear to lunch or even a dinner date.
I love to dress up for a party and this is the season to have several different outfits at the ready. White crepe pants and a beautiful silk blouse can take you almost anywhere. A cocktail party, dinner party, or anywhere you want to be a little dressed up. This is comfortable and you can dress it up even more with a string of long pearls.
This sweater with the feather sleeves is another great anytime party outfit. As you can see, I love that it is super comfortable too. If it is cool, this one is really perfect.
If the occasion calls for a little more glitz and glam, then this is the perfect outfit. I’ve had this sequin sweat for years and it never goes out of style. I also love that you can find one similar anywhere and on sale at this time of year. Perfect for Christmas or New Year. Here I paired it with my white silk blouse and white slacks, but it looks equally amazing with a black turtleneck and black slacks. I also love adding it over a pair of dark jeans for a different look too.
For a more dressed-up occasion such as a New Year’s Eve party, this is a favorite outfit. This is also perfect for a December or January wedding too. My cut leather jacket looks fabulous with white slacks and a nude camisole or cream shell.
Most days you will find me in jeans, leggings or knit pants with a tee shirt or sweater. But it really is fun to dress up once in a while. Since I have had most of these outfits for a while, I found some things similar in case you want to put together a few outfits for your holiday season too.
