Living in the desert has an advantage in the winter. We get to enjoy being outside all the time. If we want snow, then we’re just an hour and a half drive up north and we can ski, build snowmen and enjoy all the fun of snow. That’s about all I need anymore. I lived in snow country near Mt. Hood for years, so I love being where it is warmer now. Of course, that means we need to decorate the pool and yard too. Welcome to my Christmas On The Patio.
It doesn’t take much to make the patio feel comfy and cozy for Christmas. The curtains and sunshade create such a cozy “room”. The sun shade still lets us see the whole backyard and especially around the pool. If it’s a little chilly, then we just light up the firepit and we are toasty warm in no time.
I pretty much do the same thing every year. A few Christmas pillows, a cozy plaid throw, a fun lantern, and of course a bowl of shiny brights.
My Raggedy Andy always makes an appearance. He mostly loves sitting in this chair. He has the perfect view of the pool.
We might not have snow, but this is even more wonderful to me. I love the backyard and the pool is one of my favorite places.
I don’t add all the lights around the pool, but this is what Jim created for me his last Christmas 2019. I love this picture and have such wonderful memories of him adding all the lights. He knew I would love it, so he went a little crazy. Another wonderful example of how he spoiled me and loved me. Jim went to heaven on August 13, 2020. This will be our second Christmas without him. I am so grateful for all the loving memories our family has. He always spoiled all of us and showed us how much he loved us every day. He will always be our most precious gift from the Lord.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
I would like to hang out there for a while. Our temperature right now is 27, snow is predicted to start falling again in an hour. Looks very pretty but it’s so cold!
Nonie
Marty, I’m thinking of you this Christmas. My husband went to be with Jesus on December 22, 2007. Difficult day for me, but oh, what a glorious day for him!
Warm weather is wonderful. I would enjoy sharing your patio because it looks so comfy and cozy. We have had 80’s for the last several days here in Florida. When we had our “playhouse” in Tucson, it was great to go to Mt. Lemmon for the snow, but I’m getting too old to enjoy living in snow now. 🙂
Enjoy your family and friends during this Christmas season. Have a very happy New Year!
