You guys all know that I love “BIG” paintings, but sometimes you just need something smaller and special for a certain place. Something that will catch your eye and command attention like only an oil painting can do. Turn Any Art Print Into A Beautiful Looking Oil Canvas.
I am crazy about all kinds of animal paintings. Since I couldn’t find a painting that I liked at a price I could afford, I did the next best thing. You can find several sites online with free prints that you can just copy. Then there are several companies that will print your picture on canvas. Just google print on canvas and there are dozens of places.
I found this really pretty picture of sheep and had it printed out on a 16 x 18 canvas. (This was a few years ago and the company I used no longer exists) My cost was $24. (I did look online and there are several places that will do the same thing for about the same price.) It came rolled up in a tube and was stunning. It looks like a great oil painting with tons of texture and it looks like you could almost feel the brush strokes.
Next, I took it to Hobby Lobby to have it framed. I chose a wormy frame with tons of character and of course, if you buy their frame, they always frame it for free. They have amazing frames and always run 1/2 off ads, so you can find some great frames at really reasonable prices. I think this one cost me around $20 at 1/2 off. One of the secrets to fooling the eye and making a print look like an oil painting is framing and treating it like one – so pick a really fabulous frame.
I tried several galleries on this wall, but I ended up only using this one painting. The colors are so vibrant and so beautiful that this is all the stair wall needed.
I wanted to find a current company that I could work with. So I went online to find a place that takes prints and puts them on canvas. I found Easy Canvas Prints. This is such an easy company to use. Just follow their simple instructions and you will soon have a beautiful canvas. (This is not a sponsored post, I just like to pass on great finds when possible.)
This is the print I found free online that I loved. This looks so peaceful to me. A quiet winter farm scene.
When you click on Easy Canvas Prints, you see a screen that shows sizes and prices. They have a sale at the moment that is amazing. You just click and upload your print, then choose your size and follow the rest of the instructions.
I chose the 11×14 size and the standard 3/4 inch wrap since I think I will frame it when I receive it. It was marked down from $111.58 to $14.49. With standard shipping and tax, my total price was $23.87.
I love it, it turned out so pretty and I even like it unframed for now. We’ll see, I may get it framed down the road. For now, I have it hanging at the end of my peninsula in the kitchen.

Beautiful.
What a wonderful idea. Both your prints are beautiful, and I LOVE sheep prints. I have to check this
out. Thanks so much for sharing.
Both of your examples are really lovely and each one is perfect for its location. Thanks for all the info!
Hi Marty, I love both of those prints, just my style. Just wondering if you could share the link where you found the free winter scene print. It’s wonderful!
Gosh, I don’t remember. I just did a google for free prints and toured several sites. I am sorry. Marty
