My guest bedroom is small and there’s not much I can change in there except the linens. So occasionally I like to switch things up. Most recently I’ve had it done up in black and white. Then as usual once I start to change up one room, it leads to other rooms too. . I am ready for a Guest Bedroom Summer Refresh. A heavy comforter doesn’t seem right for our hot summers. Time to go with lighter layers.
Here is what I’ve had on the guest bed for a while. I love this toile comforter and who doesn’t like checks. Something lighter and with more color for summer is what I am looking for.
When I pulled everything off the bed, I started trying to think of something that would work here. The linens I had in the master bedroom would look perfect. Here is what the master bedroom looked light. Easy Spring Master Updates.
So I pulled them all out and started to play. I love these colors in here. Perfect with the brown carpet, the headboard, and the bedroom chair.
The chair has tons of camel in the upholstery too, so this color really works.
The sun makes the camel color smile in this room.
I love the texture and color of the tray, so I redid it and put it back in the room.
Some mints, a few magazines and a small plant is all the tray needed.
Now I think this looks like summer, don’t you?
OK, the question now is what did I do with the master bedroom since I took all the linens out of there. Well, I was ready for something really cool and with a little bit of color, almost minimalist. (We hit 98 this last week, so hot is on the way.)
I love the deep color of these purple pillows and the throw is really lightweight, so it is perfect for summer.
Just enough color to add interest.
This looks light and airy don’t you think?
I swapped out the tulips for a different arrangement.
I think I am done for now. Summer is on the way and this will work.
How about you? Do you change out your linens for the seasons?
I have wanted a white bedspread forever and now after seeing yours I am going to go for it. It looks so clean and inviting.
You are a genius!! Both rooms are lovely! And you did them with what you had on hand. Bravo!!
Hi Marty,
Both your rooms look great, and definitely ready for Spring/Summer. I love that we can move things room to room and get a totally different look, it’s cost effective, wise, creative and a fun.challenge. Use what we have decorating is great and causes us to get real creative, which makes feel smart and creative which is a great thing………lol
Hope this finds you doing well hon. I have been sort of spring cleaning and organizing in our bedroom too. No change of bedding, just other things. Getting rid of things that need to be gotten rid of…..which is always good. Still in process, doing a lil bit each day.
Well Hope you have a lovely and Wonderful Mother’s Day Sweetie and that your kids spoil you real good!! lol
Love and blessings,
Nellie
Thanks so much Nellie, Happy Mothers day to you too.
What a GREAT but simple way to refresh things. I’ve never been very creative but I am inspired by your ideas, thank you for sharing!
