Don’t Want To Be Fancy – A Simple Tablescape For Easter. I love to create a fancy tablescape and pull out all the stops, then sometimes I just like for things to be simple and easy. Since we will be spending Easter at my daughter’s, I wanted a simple table for every day, but still with a nod to this special holiday.
Yellow and white tulips always make me think of spring, plus what is prettier than yellow and blue. I had some tulips so I put them in a pretty blue cache pot for a simple but stunning centerpiece. I filled the pot as full as I could and love how the tulips seem to be overflowing and draping down to the table. This is the perfect start for a simple table setting.
I set the table with simple gold chargers and glasses. Then I added a white dinner plate and a small blue and white butter dish to each place setting. Everyday flatware and pretty blue and white stripe napkins finish off each setting. Two of the napkins have cute duck napkin rings – –
and two have bunny napkin rings.
The yellow and white tulips look so pretty, I love this arrangement. I also featured my mother’s favorite china egg from the 40’s.
A really simple table that pays tribute to the holiday without being fussy. Perfect for every day and even perfect for company.

It’s a beautiful tablescape! There’s just something about the combination of blue and yellow/gold that is just so fresh and appealing. And the tulips are a beautiful touch. When you shop for table accessories, Marty, do you buy in quantities of 4, 6 or 8 or more? I’m always undecided on how many to purchase, not knowing how I’ll use the items – for small gatherings or larger. I do like to keep our dining room table set for four, and tend to buy in quantities of 4 more often than not. But, it’s always a quandry for me. Your table is gorgeous!
I am like you, I buy more in 4 than anything else. Sometimes I buy stems in 6 because I use them a lot for larger gatherings. I also like to mix and match if I have a really big gathering. That’s why I use mostly white and then buy pattern or colored salad or butter dishes. I agree, it is fun to create a fun table scape.
So pretty! Where did you buy the cute napkins? Thanks!
Gosh I’ve had those napkins for years. I think I got them at Home Goods. That’s where I usually find the ones that I like. Thanks, Marty
Nothing says spring like tulips with blue and yellow. Very pretty. Who can resist bunnies ? I love that you added your mother’s egg.
I admit, however, that I look forward to your Fabrage egg plates every year.
What a beautiful table for anytime! I love blue and yellow all the time.
That’s very pretty and spring-like with the blue and yellow. No idea who all is coming to my house this year but I doubt I will do more than flowers. I love your natural runners paired with everything!
Simple and pretty!
So pretty, Marty. Such a lovely setting. Hugs to you.
LOve your little bunny napkin rings, Marty!
Love your table setting, love your home all over!
I really appreciate that you share our changing roles in life. As I get older, I find I need to take a step back and let the daughters in law and my single son
take over holidays. Once I got over my need to be the hostess (okay, control everything), I find I am really enjoying everything and everyone so much more.
I agree with you, I love to entertain but I love to go to the kids house and let them handle it every once in a while. Marty
HI Marty! I love the napkins too! So sunny and bright-like you!
Happy Day! laura
