2023 Bloggers Best Holiday Home Tour

I am so excited to be joining the 2023 Bloggers Best Holiday Home Tour hosted by Kelly @ The Tattered Pew.  She has gathered together 30 of my friends to share some of their beautifully decorated homes for Christmas.  I love all the different styles and rooms these ladies are sharing this week.  There is so much talent and inspiration in each amazing tour.

If you are coming over from Cindy @ DIY Beautify, welcome.  Her home is truly stunning and her Old Fashioned Christmas Tree is perfection.  I love it and I know you did too.  This season I am sharing my kitchen and laundry room.  When we moved in 7 years ago, we did a complete remodel of the kitchen and it is still my favorite room in the house.

Our home is small, but I love how you can see from the front of the house upstairs and all the way through the back of the house.  The back of the house is family room, kitchen and breakfast room.  That seems to be where we spend most of our time.

The kitchen is on the left as you enter and the family room is on the right.  Let’s take a peek at the family room.

I’m recovering from some surgery, so I didn’t put a tree up in here this year.  Since we are going minimal, we only set up a tree in the living room.  My son helped me decorate, so we just added the three small trees next to the window in the family room.

A simple Santa vignette on the coffee table and one of my favorite Christmas pillows on the sofa add a touch of Holiday spirit.

On the left as you enter is the kitchen and breakfast area.  I love to cook so I spend a ton of time in here.  Adding just a few bits of Christmas Decor just makes the room even more fun to be in.

Since this isn’t a huge kitchen, I try to keep the counters free of clutter.  Just a couple of favorite Christmas decorations. My little Gingerbread Gal and my Favorite Chef Santa always have to find a place.

The island is where I love to create something different each year, so my little red truck got the honors this year.  MY fun drunken chef is next to a candy tree and the truck holds a couple of Christmas toys for all the good little boys and girls.

The breakfast area is next to the kitchen.  You also get a peek at the laundry room.

Our laundry is a simple walk-thru to the garage, but it’s fun to add a little Christmas decor to make doing laundry more fun.  I love looking through all the Christmas decor and adding some fun favorites each year.  Some Santas. a big fat Snow Man and a crazy Elf are fun.

We eat most of our meals in the breakfast room.  The trestle table is large enough to hold 8 easily, so it’s also the favorite place to eat when family comes over.  For now I’ve set the table for 6.  I love using a double runner down each side, perfect place to add the chargers and place settings.

Santa and his sleigh are the grands favorite, so perfect for the center of the table.  I’ve had these pieces for years, so my grands have grown up with them.

The sleigh is spilling over with fun childrens toys.

Since the Santa is so tall, I’ll move him over to the island when we start to ear.

The corner of the room holds my antique butter churn and a special clock from my mother’s collection.  A simple ivy, lantern and church remind us of the season.

I’m so glad you stopped by today.  Be sure to come back next week (12/4) to see the Living and Dining Rooms all dressed for Christmas.

Sending many, many prayers up for your quick recovery. You are a lovely person and I love your decorating ideas. Thank you for helping me transition from a large home to a small senior living apartment. You understood how difficult downsizing is but how rewarding it can be. Thank you.
