Welcome to the 2023 Christmas Home Tour – My Home. This year I have to thank Anne and AnnMarie @ Simply2Moms for hosting this amazing week-long tour. I had to have a little surgery, so these fabulous ladies took over for me and put this whole tour together. They are amazing designers and organizers, so you are in for a real treat. They have tours lined up for the entire week so you don’t want to miss a single tour. 30 ladies over the next 5 days are opening the doors to their homes to share how they decorate for Christmas. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.
My son was the major decorator this year. He helped me get the small tree out and shuffled all the boxes and containers around for me. That made decorating so easy. I didn’t go overboard, just enough to make it feel like Christmas was here.
When you enter our home you walk right into the living and dining area. This two-story wall opposite the seating area is where I added a small console to serve as our entry. The large ficus tree is usually in the front window, but I had to move it here to make room for the Christmas Tree. I like how it looks in this space too.
This chest is the perfect spot to drop off my purse and keyes when I come in the door. Packages are usually piled on the chair.
A few Christmas trees and my favorite deer are perfect to welcome the season.
This year I went really simple with my decor. Instead of the big 9′ tree, I pulled out my little slim 7′ flocked tree to use.
Since we used the small tree, I went a little over the top and added a ton of balls. Even if it is small, we need lots of sparkle and glitz.
Special ornaments are pulled out each year. Our trees always have my cherished Doves. I’ve had these for years and they always make an appearance. reminding us of loved ones spending Christmas in Heaven. This is our third year without Jim and our second year without Chuck. They are both so missed.
Since we were going small and simple this year, I reused some of my decor. I kept the same pillows and throw, I just added a favorite Joy pillow and added a favorite Santa to the coffee table.
Another favorite joining in again this year are my special sock reindeer and fun burlap tree.
Since our living area and dining area are all one long room, I like to keep the colors the same in each space. The dining table was switched up a little and a small forest of Christmas trees were arranged as the centerpiece. One large silver Reindeer is standing proud amongst the trees.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I love having you visit. If you missed my earlier tour – 2023 Bloggers Best Holiday Home Tour – last week, you can check it out here. I shared my kitchen, breakfast area and laundry.
