I love a mix of traditional, modern, rustic, and farmhouse and that is exactly what MODERN FARMHOUSE is all about. This is not your grandma’s farmhouse and it is not country farmhouse. It adds a modern twist to all your farmhouse decor. Here is my take on Modern Farmhouse & How To Get The Look.
I recently found a fabulous woven table runner (at my favorite consignment shop) that had to come home with me. It reminds me of some of those wonderful crazy quilts that our grandmothers made. This is the perfect example of how Modern Farmhouse takes inspiration from the past and interprets it for today.
Heavy rustic yarn is woven together to create a striking “crazy quilt” pattern. The extra wide width creates a dramatic base for my tablesetting.
We love our farmhouse table and chairs. They are a set that I’ve had for years and use them everyday. It’s where we love to gather with family most of the time. I’ve added woven placemats, a tin lantern and simple finials as my centerpiece. The gold based glasses add a touch of modern glitz just for fun.
Our lantern chandelier is often used in farmhouse decor. It is also used in many modern rooms too. Such a versatile piece.
Our farmhouse table has a trestle base with twisted legs and I love the way the ladderback chairs have a graceful cut out. The woven seats are also very typical of a lot of farmhouse chairs.
Just add a few of your favorite “farmhouse” accessories into the mix and enjoy.
Modern Farmhouse seems to be the best of both worlds, marrying the past and present together.
I absolutely LOVE your table setting! This almost looks exactly how I’ve got my coffee table set up. When my grandmother passed I got her antique farmhouse dining table set. It came with 8 ladder back chairs. I’ve often thought of selling it because we really don’t have the room for it, but seeing how you’ve got that extra wide runner on YOUR table has given me SO MUCH INSPIRATION that now I’ll NEVER get rid of it. Thank you so much for giving me a reason to keep the past alive 😊
