The New Sofa Saga Continues – Making Do For Now.  I have been hunting for a new sofa for the family room for a while now, just haven’t found anything I like at a price I want to pay.  This room gets a ton of wear, so I would like a good sofa, just not one that costs $5,000.  I would also love to have something in leather so the dog’s hair wouldn’t always cling to some kind of fabric.

This sofa is really comfortable, but it has begun to show wear.  White cut velvet is not a great color for a busy room that loves to have everyone and all the grands here.  A while ago I bought a set of slipcovers from Amazon and gave the sofa a facelift.  The color is dark enough to help hide a few stains and it is washable, so that is definitely a bonus.  One more gray piece of furniture doesn’t do much for the room, but I am trying to make do for now.  The two gray leather recliners and gray sofa is a lot of gray.

This is the sofa I had in here previously.  I love this sofa, and it so perfect for my living room, so I swapped sofas and put the one in the living room in the family room

This is the one I had in the living room.  Not a great style or fabric for the family room.  It’s only saving grace is how comfortable it is.  However, it is really showing its wear, so I need a new sofa.  The slipcovers are a cheap stop-gap until I find what I am looking for.

At any rate, this will make do for a while and I will continue to look for just the right piece.
