I love being outdoors any time I can, however, this time of year when our temperatures range between 110 and 117 it is just too hot to be outside. I always love joining the Pinterest Challenge each month. It is so fun when everyone is given the same picture and asked to recreate a similar image. Our challenge this month was dining outdoors. Dining outdoors is not possible even early in the morning. I wanted to do an outdoor table, so I set this up at about 7:30 in the morning. Our temperature at the time was already 92. This s my version of the July Pinterest Challenge – Outdoor Dining.
Our Inspiration Photo this time comes from Hello-Hayley. She shares 40 amazing tablescapes for every occasion and with 40 different types of decor from casual to fancy. I love this casual outdoor table setting.
My table is a really simple setting for 2. I used a few outdoor plants, wicker placemats, napkins that reflect the color of the water and some soft blue beads on the table.
If the weather were nicer, you would find me dining by the pool after a really cool swim. The patio and pool are my favorite places to be.
If you can over from Cindy’s @ County Road 407, welcome. I am sure you loved her beautiful Green and White table as much as I did. Next, be sure to check out WM Design House to see her stunning table using lemons. Afterward, don’t forget to click on any of the links below to see all the amazing tables.
Marty, I salute your bravery for setting up your outdoor tablescape in the heat! I love how your soft blues reflect the water, the layers are so lovely! Have a wonderful day and here’s hoping outdoor dining can be a reality soon!
What a lovely pool and table set up! Absolutely stunning.
Marty, I love seeing your pool in the background and can just imagine enjoying a meal at your lovely table. Of course our temperatures get pretty hot in the summer too, so we just keep jumping in the pool to cool off while we eat LOL!
I completely understand where you are coming from with this unbearable summer heat! Here in KY it’s been high 90’s for weeks on end with only two days of rain. The humidity makes it a real feel of 100+ and we have heat advisories often, so I have avoided gardening and outdoor activities for over a month. I think I might be able to tolerate and early morning swim in your beautiful pool! The simple table setting your created is perfect for your poolside patio. I love those napkins!
Try to stay cool!

Your pool looks so inviting! Love how you added the water-colored beads to reflect the water. Keep cool!
Lovely table Marty. The soft blues & greens with the pool backdrop is so serene and peaceful. Perfect for summer. XO- MaryJo
I love your simple al fresco dining table, Marty! The inspo pic was simple, too! Add aqua to anything, and I’m there!
Not sure where in AZ you are but I heard last week it was 122 degrees! 122!!! I can’t even imagine that. Love those napkins. Thanks for joining in. Stay inside where it’s cool!
Marty,
I love a table by the pool. Love all the soothing blue colors.
Marty, I’m right there with you about the heat. I love to dine outside and was determined to set my tablescape outside. But at 7:30 am, it started to rain! I had to wait until 9:00. Fortunately, the rain blew the humidity out and I the temps dropped. The lingering clouds made it perfect for photographing. Your table with the pool in the background is perfect for two.
Marty, whew! Yeah, 92 deg. at 7:30am… I remember visiting my mother’s cousin and her family in Scottsdale in the mid-morning in summer and it was already 105. We ended up swimming in their east-facing pool in the late afternoon and the water was hot. Your pool looks really good! I hope it is cool enough for you to swim in in the early mornings. 🙂 Your table looks lovely set with desert plants. Love those summery napkins!!
Stay cool, my friend. <3
