European Countryside – Cottage Core -Old English – Country Chic or Grandma’s Attic

When you look at any magazine, visit any boutique store, or scroll through Instagram, you can’t help but see how home decor is fascinated with the past.  Maybe the Olympics brought it to the forefront since we are getting a fabulous tour of France and all the wonderful landmarks.  I’m not sure but I think it is our yearning to make our homes cozy, inviting, friendly, and welcoming.  Whether you call it European Countryside – Cottage Core – Old English – Country Chic or Grandma’s Attic, I think it is fun and I like it.

Here are a few samples of what I am talking about.

Seeking Lavender Lane – Deb is a friend I’ve followed for years.  She has transformed her home into a beautiful European Countryside Estate.  I love how well she does it without it being overdone.

For years when I lived in Oregon, I had a really rustic home with tons of wallpaper, wood beams, rock fireplaces and American antiques.  Most of the furniture pieces were sold a long time ago, but I still have some antique accessories that I love to play with.

With fall right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to bring some of that back into my home.  As I transition a few areas in my home to more of the European Countryside or Cottage Core feeling, I thought I would share my thoughts on how to create the look and feel by swapping out accessories.  Just shopping my home and keeping my basic furniture, I will show you how easy it is to give a room a whole new look.  Be sure to check back to see how I plan on changing my entry as the first area.

That look is my all time favorite. I am excited to see how you bring it into your lovely place, Marty.
