Pulling Fall Decor Together For A Tour

Pulling Fall Decor Together For A Tour. I love hosting our Seasonal Home Tours, they are so much fun.  Getting ready for one is fun too, but it sometimes creates a huge mess before it is done.  I like to have the possibility of a couple of color schemes in mind when I start.  I also want to go around the house and gather up a lot of accessories that I think would work for fall vignettes.  That means going through every room, the garage stash and my dish closet that holds a ton of pillows and other accessories too.

I put a lot of the accessories that I think I might use on the dining room table.  It usually starts small and grows as I collect things from all over.

I also like to pull a bunch of pillow covers out of the stash with the colors I am considering using.

Then I start playing with different combinations.  I don’t remove some of the existing pillow covers I am currently using, I just lay a different pillow cover over it and see if I like the combination.  They’re not tucked in, just laid over an existing pillow, but you can get the idea.  I also like to try a few throw blankets with each combination too.

I like this milk-chocolate combination.  I love the old-world print on the throw and how it adds more character to the pillow combination.

The solid suede pillow is nice with this combination too.

I haven’t quite figured out what color these pillows are.  They have a lot of gold in them with some light and then a bit of orange with other light.  They make a pretty combination at any color.

Sometimes just a combination of velvet Fall Colors works wonders.  Simple and so many possibilities for other accessories. Dark green, sage green, and rust.

A different combination of pretty chocolate browns.  This one has a fun “Love” pillow.

For just plain fun there is nothing like a William Morrison Fox pillow.  He is just the cutest, and the colors are fabulous.

Replace the dark green pillow with a rust colored one and you have a totally different feel.  I think I am partial to the rust pillow.

Ok, now I need to pic a color scheme and start putting this room together.  I’ll show you how I create different vignettes too.  So come back for the next installment.

Oh boy! I have the same pile on my living room floor!!! Good heavens. 😆 I DO love that fox pillow. I may have to order one myself. 😊
I can’t wait to see what you settle on. You have so much to choose from. Clever way to do the pillows without having to switch them out and break a nail!
Have fun decorating. I love the fall and cannot wait to decorate my new home this year.
