Welcome to the 2024 Fall Home Tour. We have some of the most beautiful homes opening doors and sharing their Fall decor this week. We have 4 homes on today’s tour. I am thrilled to start the week off with my home. Pull up a chair, grab something to drink and enjoy. At the bottom of this post, you will see links to the other 3 homes today and links to all the homes all week. So mark your calendars, you don’t want to miss a single tour.
I love my home and have fun changing things around all the time. My home has a lot of architectural detail with 2 story ceilings and straight lines. It lends itself well to Transitonal styles. I love some of the many different decor styles you see all over the place and thought I would change up a few things to give my home a new look and feel. By switching out a few pieces of furniture and changing out some accessories, I love the Old World or Cottage Core feeling it has at the moment.
I started making a few changes at the entry. I use this chest to create the feel of an entry. It’s the first place that you see when you walk in the door.
This is the look you’ve seen for the past few years.
By switching out the painting and a few different accessories, this area takes on a more cozy feel.
I don’t usually show this entire wall. However, this view shows how the room flows directly into the familyroom/kitchen area.
The China Cabinet is across from the dining area and holds my heirloom treasures from my Mother and Mother-in-law.
Ok, back to the living/dining side of the room.
I switched out the rug and moved the leather chair back in here to give the room a different feel and look. I love how this changes the feel of the room completely.
I added a grouping of fall colored pillows with my Fox pillow on the sofa. He definitely demands attention.
Some pumpkins in a basket on the bottom of the coffee table and a basket of flowers and candle on the top adds to the casual feel of the room.
Adding more traditional items to my side tables was another way to keep a more casual and warm feeling in the room.
I didn’t set the dining table for dinner.
Instead I just added a few items that I love for a fun centerpiece.

Good morning Marty. You are a natural at arranging the surfaces of your furniture.
Placing a chair between the entrance buffet and the tall cabinet was a great idea. I love something that’s practical AND pretty. It creates a natural break in the wall, making the space feel more dynamic and intentional. Well played 😉
Such an elegant tour! I adore your fall textiles, especially the fox pillow! Thanks for hosting. Happy fall!

Marty,
This may be my favorite look to date for your fall home. It is so elegant and cozy. The rusty oranges look so pretty with your neutrals. That fox pillow is darling and the rug is perfect in the new spot!!
Lovely fall tour Marty just as I knew it would be. Love your fall styling on the entry table and your new rug looks fabulous!
Marty, your home looks amazing, thank you for sharing! Penny
The living room came together beautifully. I love the rug you chose! I’m considering ordering one for my bedroom. How does it feel under foot? I’m usually bare footed in my bedroom so that’s important to me.

Ms. Marty, your tour looks so peaceful and perfect. The rug in the living room is my favorite! Did I miss seeing where you got it? Love the chair switcharoo too. It’s crazy how changing to a darker, heavier piece has a huge impact. Loved your tour. Enjoy it and happy fall!
