If you have followed me for very long then you know I like to change things up really often. I seem to get bored with seeing the same thing every day. I don’t like to reinvent the wheel – so I like to make really small changes that give me a totally different look. I have had a ton of fun changing up my basic Table in the Breakfast area. One Fall Table – Four Ways.
Late summer always makes me think of sunflowers. A tin basket filled to overflowing is always a fun centerpiece. Add in some fun candlesticks, gold chargers and plaid napkins and you have a fun table.
At the end of August, we have a couple of birthdays to celebrate, so I changed out the basket centerpiece for a smaller sunflower arrangement that I had. It was smaller and lower so plenty of room for everyone to visit across the table. My table will easily seat 8 so after I fixed this centerpiece, all I had to do was add 2 more place settings and we were ready.
When I start thinking about Fall, of course I think about pumpkins and wheat. Since I loved the place setting and most of the centerpiece I already had, I just swapped out the tin basket for a woven basket filled with my favorite pumpkins. This gave my table a different look; all I changed was the basket.
When I was cleaning the house the other day, I decided to swap out the centerpiece again. I had the scales on the island, but I wanted to move it. So I swapped out the floral arrangement and added the scales and a wheat bundle. Now I can add the silverware and glasses for my next dinner party and I am all set.
You don’t always have to start from scratch, just switch out a centerpiece, maybe the napkins or glasses, and it will create a totally different table. Which one is your favorite.
