Bake Up Some Love For Valentines

Bake Up Some Love For Valentines.  Nothing says love like something freshly baked.   This is one of my favorite recipes that hundreds of women have made for years.  It’s an old Betty Crocker standby.  Sweet flaky biscuits you can make from Bisquick Pancake & Baking Mix.  I think the first time I made these was as a new bride years ago and they are still a favorite and so easy.

These are perfect any time you want a fabulous biscuit, or sweeten them up to use as a great shortcake for dessert.

Recipe:
Cut up about 4 cups of fresh strawberries and cover with 1/3 cup sugar.
Mix all together
2 1/3 cup bisquick
2/3 cup milk
3 tbl sugar
3 tbl melted butter
grease small cookie sheet
place large spoonfulls on cookie sheet
Bake at 450 degrees for approx. 17 minutes
Let cool, slice in half
Place on pretty dish and fill bottom half with strawberries and top with some whipped cream
Add top of biscuit and garnish with more whipped cream and another strawberry.
Be sure to tell your Special Valentine you love them when you serve them up.

      HI Marty,
Hope you had a sweet Valentines day. I use the exact same recipe for my strawberry shortcake and it is divine.
I did learn some years ago after we went to a restaurant that was like a country inn and had their strawberry
shortcake, was to add a lil almond extract to the biscuit dough…………It really makes it taste great. I am
trying to remember how much I used, as it’s been awhile in case someone wants to try it. I think I did
2 teaspoonsful. but you might want to try 1 1/2 just in case. I did just 1 the first time and it wasn’t enough,
you could taste it but it needed more.

Adding the almond extract sound amazing. I have to give that a try. Thanks, Marty
