I have tried several different bedding ensembles in this room. So far I have one that works for Summer and now this one that I think works for Fall and Winter. I am not really fond of the brown tweed carpet the previous owners added new to upstairs before they sold to us, but it is really nice carpet and pad, so I try to work with it. I have a gray bedding ensemble and a brown one. I think the brown is great for fall.
The brown quilt is really nice, so I bought some brown pillowcases and got to work looking through my stash to see how I could give this room a whole new look.
Love this color combination. Orange is always a favorite and perfect to spice up a room for winter. I really like this.
The headboard was a super fun find at Hotel Liquidators for only $29.50. You can see how I stained and reupholstered it here.
This orange and brown throw is such a bright happy piece, add in one pretty orange velvet pillow and the colors pop. Nothing boring about this combination. I added a second plaid scarf to the end table basket just for fun. My straw hat got a new orange ribbon too.
This brown Louis style chair has been floating around for years, it was in the family room for ages. Now I think it works well here for a change. I had a lumbar straw pillow that adds to the straw in my hat.
The drapes are a pretty sheer pattern that I found at Tuesday Morning a couple of years ago. They add a bit more texture to the space.
The dresser at the foot of the bed got a pretty orange bouquet and a pretty gold box for decor. Another chair has been added to this corner for extra seating or to hold a suitcase.
In case you forgot, this is the bedding ensemble I have been using for winter. I love the toile quilt on the foot of the bed, it adds extra warmth for the cooler nights. All I did at Christmas was add a wreath and a couple of small decor items. I love this bedding combination, but the new orange is just as pretty and refreshing.
I think this new bedding combination is a winner – so happy I decided to change things up for a fun Guest Bedroom Refresh.

So what do you think? I think it is bright and fun and perfect for winter. I’ll probably go back to pink for summer, but for now, this is good.
I really like this color combination, good job. Your attention to detail makes all the difference.
Looks so pretty for fall Marty. Love your hat and the throw on the bed. So cute.
Have a great Thursday. xoxo
Hi Marty, your new setup looks great, and any guest would be ensured sweet dreams. 🙂
Perhaps one day you may find a nice carpet that you could layer over the current rug. I agree; it’s a shame to waste a perfectly good carpet and pad.
Take care, hope you continue to do well.
Marsha
Layering a rug is a great idea!
Marty, I was wondering how you are feeling, physically, after having Covid, or are you resting extra and taking care of yourself more often than usual. I do hope you are stronger and doing well. God bless you. Karen L.
I am fine after Covid, totally well. I lost Jim to Covid, so now I am trying to recover from his loss. Right now thins are really hard. Marty
SO BEAUTIFUL! Very warm, welcoming room. And your bedspread looks to be a perfect match for the carpet! Well done!
Dear Marty,
Absolutely beautiful Autumnal design for your Guest Room!
Truly, inspirational!

I especially like the plaid throw! It looks so soft and cuddly. You’ve changed the look of the room completely by just changing out the colors. Think of you often and keep you in my prayers. Glad you are better physically.
Marty,
I think your autumn guest bedroom is perfect. It seems so inviting, warm and cozy!!!!
It looks so warm and inviting. Nicely done. I bet things are very hard at the moment, you have been through so so much. And will continue. But one day at a time, and take time to be kind to yourself. Difficult times.
Fondly, Ramona

Very nice!!!
Oh I love that fall plaid throw and that gorgeous painting on the wall!
The whole ensemble works so well together, but I love that the orange is stealing the show.
