I love a mix of traditional, modern, rustic, and farmhouse and that is exactly what MODERN FARMHOUSE is all about. This is not your grandma’s farmhouse and it is not country farmhouse. It is adding a modern twist to all your farmhouse decor, and adding a little farmhouse to your modern room. Here are a few examples of Modern Farmhouse Updated.

This post I did a while back has been pinned thousands of times and I always get tons of questions. I thought it was time to repost it. Here are a few tips on How To Get That Modern Farmhouse Look.
I recently found a fabulous woven table runner (at my favorite consignment shop) that had to come home with me. It reminds me of some of those wonderful crazy quilts that our grandmothers made. This is the perfect example of how Modern Farmhouse takes inspiration from the past and interprets it for today.
Heavy rustic yarn is woven together to create a striking “crazy quilt” pattern. The extra-wide width creates a dramatic base for my table setting.
We love our farmhouse table and chairs. They are a set that I’ve had for years and use them every day. It’s where we love to gather with family most of the time. I’ve added woven placemats, a tin lantern, and simple finials as my centerpiece. The gold-based glasses add a touch of modern glitz just for fun.
Our lantern chandelier is often used in farmhouse decor. It is also used in many modern rooms too. Such a versatile piece.
Our farmhouse table has a trestle base with twisted legs and I love the way the ladderback chairs have a graceful cut-out. The woven seats are also very typical of a lot of farmhouse chairs.
Our recent family room makeover is also a great example of Modern Farmhouse. You can check out all the details and how this room was put together here.
