$1.49 Took This Table From Ok to Special
When I shared my 2019 Summer Home Tour, I told you that I don’t usually use a lot of blue. I seem to gravitate to warm colors more than cool tones. However looking outside at the beautiful blue water in the pool made me want to have a cool, casual, coastal blue vibe in the living room. To pull that off, I did some really frugal shopping. Some $5 pillows (1/2 off sale) at Hobby Lobby, $13 Family Pillow from TJMaxx, $5 napkins from TJMaxx and $5.99 cache pot from Ross. Mix in a ton of white and wicker and it looked Farmhouse Coastal Casual to me.
I shopped the house and scoured my dish room to find things that I needed for a pretty tablesetting. It looked just fine, but now it looks so much better. While at Hobby Lobby looking for fabric, of course I always shop the clearance aisles. I found the perfect thing to take my dining table setting up a notch. Pretty Blue and White Salad plates for $1.49 each.
The table was first set using only small white salad plates. This looked just fine – – –
but- the new blue and white is such a great addition and totally upgrades the table setting.
Since I don’t use a ton of blue, buying a whole set of blue dishes wouldn’t make sense for me, but some really pretty salad plates is perfect and on sale for $1.49 couldn’t be better.
There were two beautiful patterns, so I bought two of each.
Now I have an upgraded table setting for $6 and fabulous accent dishes I can use again and again.
I love this, I just may use blue more often.
How about you, little details and bargains always give me a smile.
