How to give your entry character and definition – that is what I have been asking myself. My entry isn’t a separate area, you open the door and walk right into my living/dining area on the right and a really tall two story wall on the left. That is the area that I try to create an entry.
I have a console, really great painting and an ottoman that I have been using.
This is a great place to drop my keys and handbag. I also use the ottoman to hold packages as I come in.
This has been a really functional space and blends with the living/dining areas.
This shows you how this area is just across from the living and dining.
I am always on the lookout for some way to change things up and add more interest to each room and space in the house. I thought maybe I would try a chair in place of the ottoman.
This is a small scale chair, so I think it works. I didn’t want something too big that would stick out in the room.
The chair could also be pulled over and used in the living room for additional seating if needed.
I think the chair is a good alternative to the ottoman. They both work, but it is nice to have a change once in a while.
So what do you think? Do you have a favorite – chair or ottoman?
