Welcome to my 2017 Christmas Home Tour Part 2. If you missed Part 1, you can catch up here. I shared our Living Room – Dining Area and Tree. If you like silver/gold/sparkle & shine, then you will love it. Also take a peek at my garland up the stairs, that was a labor of love.
Today I would love to share our Kitchen and Family Room. If you are new here welcome, if you have been following along then you remember the huge room makeover our kitchen went through right after we moved in last December.
Our kitchen and family room take up the back half of the house and is where we spend most of our time. I thought traditional Christmas with red-green and plaid was fitting for this area.
I love how our kitchen remodel turned out. It is my favorite room in the whole house.
We moved in the week before Christmas last year so there was no way I could decorate this area. I was lucky to get the boxes out of the way in time for my family to be here Christmas night. Since we had lived far away from them for 12 years, I couldn’t wait to have them all here and celebrate Christmas. (In case you are new, here is what the kitchen looked like when we bought the house,)
Huge transformation don’t you agree. The back of the house is where we “live”. The breakfast area, kitchen and family rooms run across the entire back of the house. This is my view standing beside the coffee table in the family room. When we have all the family over, everyone seems to hang out in these spaces. The long breakfast bar is often turned into one big buffet counter.
This space functions perfect for our family now with the remodel. I love our huge walk-in pantry next to the fridge and the next door leads to the laundry room and garage.
I didn’t do a ton of decorating in here since this space is used all day every day. Seems like we are always cooking or baking something so I like for all the surfaces to be clean.
I am hosting several parties this season so I kept the decor really simple. I need room to cook up a storm. Simple wreaths hang from plaid ribbons above the range.
This little Christmas Chef is standing by to give me a hand with all the cooking.
These are my helpers on the island. I am sure they are ready to do a lot of baking.
The antique butter churn in the breakfast area holds a small tree and my mischievous little elf.
The table is set for a small get together with some of the grands.
Christmas plates and napkins from Goodwill and fun sweater reindeer from Home Goods.
This room will soon be filled with tons of good things to eat and lots of family gathered around. That makes me a happy girl.
Adjoining the kitchen is our family room. This is our view from the breakfast table.
Traditional red and green plaid are featured in here. It is one of my favorite combinations for Christmas.
My new coffee table was the perfect spot for this Santa and his reindeer.
A few present on the bottom shelf for some special people.
I have had these little carolers for years. Love their pretty red jackets.
This room is still very much a work in progress, but we are enjoying it so much. Our favorite hang-out spot. New furniture is coming after the first of the year and some new shutters for the windows too.
Just outside those doors is where you will find me most any time. – – –
The pool was finished in June and I think I lived in it all summer. Time to finish up some landscaping and get it ready for spring. In the meantime, I am enjoying sitting on the patio with some hot chocolate and enjoying the lights. How spoiled can anyone girl get.
.
All the changes this year and our new home have been Blessings beyond my wildest dreams. Being closer to family and friends has been a dream come true. I think I already have everything on my Christmas Wish List.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I love having company.
I wish you and your family the most Blessed Christmas ever.
