I am thrilled to be kicking off the 2017 Fall Home Tours. We are starting off today with 6 gorgeous homes and 6 more each day this week. 30 of the most beautiful homes in blogland will be opening their doors to share their Fall decor. You will definitely want to mark your calendars so you don’t miss a single one.
Come on in so let me show you around.
In the 8 months that we’ve lived here, I have tried several different furniture arrangements in the living room. I think I finally have the one that works best for this space. It is just a matter of trial and error and sometimes taking away furniture to finally get it right. So come on into the living room, I can’t wait to show you around. I have been adding some of my favorite fall colors to the house.
The living room got a few touches of orange and leopard. I think orange is such a bright happy color. It always reminds me of the changing leaves on all the trees every fall and who doesn’t love leopard.
One of my favorite things about this house are the huge windows and all the wonderful light that streams in. (After the drape major fail – I am definitely keeping these fabulous windows bare. Shutters are all they need)
The coffee table is usually set up for a game of chess. That is my hubby and grandson’s favorite way to spend time together. An orange candle and pretty hurricane carry on my color scheme.
(Be sure to check out World Market for some super velvet pillows in such great colors. The price is fabulous too.)
This little floral arrangement got a fresh makeover with a few feathers ~~~
and I couldn’t resist this shell from Home Goods when I saw it – you know how much I love cloches.
The dining area looks so bright with it’s orange napkins too.
I moved the wine rack to this corner for a change. So far I like it. (I think we need to buy more wine, it’s looking a little empty.)
Adding feathers to any bouquet gives it a little bit of sass.
I’m working on a new furniture layout for the family room – so here is a little sneak peak. (New to me sofa, coffee table & chairs coming – oh and bamboo blinds too)
Since the kitchen adjoins the family room, let’s take a look at it next. (You can see my full kitchen makeover here)
It’s still hard for me to realize it looked like this when we bought the house. Such a huge transformation on a really small budget.
OK, back to the tour – – – –
I pulled out a few of my antiques for Fall. I love this coffee grinder and I actually use it. Makes great coffee. Two of my favorites – a butter platter and a cloche.
The breakfast table is set with ivy, wheat, and a gold gourd – nice and simple for everyday.
In the corner of the breakfast room, I brought my antique Butter Churn out of storage. I love this piece. I found it when I lived in Oregon 34 years ago. The stenciling is so pretty ~~~~and isn’t this crank handle just amazing. There are big paddles inside to turn the cream and make butter.
I found this hand carved rooster in Fredricksburg Texas years ago. I love this piece too and I think he looks so grand sitting on the butter churn.
I have so much fun cooking and decorating my new kitchen.
This is my favorite spot in the house. This is one of my favorite views, looking back into the kitchen and breakfast area from the family room. (On a side note, our NuCore waterproof floors from Floor & Decor are one of my favorite things too. I get a ton of questions about them all the time. All I do is vacuum and mop, so easy and they look fabulous)
The master bedroom got a little fall decor too with some fur and glitz.
I love having room to have a really comfy chair to sit in.
Fur, velvet and glitz. What else could you want?
Of course I have to share a pic of the backyard. My biggest wish in the new house was a pool. Ours was finished in June and I have loved it every single day all summer. We have a long way to go with landscaping, but it will get there.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I love sharing our new home with you. Still tons to do, but we are having fun.
Now let’s take a look at the other 5 homes on the tour today.
Inspiration For Moms – Laura’s style is a beautiful mix and so well done. She definitely proves style is not about budget with her wonderful DIY projects. Just look at this kitchen, isn’t it a dream
Cuckoo4Design – Julia’s style is definitely Contemporary Chic with a bit of Boho thrown in for good measure.
Clean & Scentsible – Jenn’s style is an updated version of Farmhouse chic. I love how she pays attention to every detail.
