2015 Fall Home Tours – My Home

I am so excited to be kicking off the 2015 Welcome To Fall Home Tours. 30 gracious ladies are opening their homes over the next 5 days.  You are definitely in for tons of eye candy and inspiration.  You can check out the entire line up at the end of the post.

Welcome, I’ve been waiting on the porch for you.  Come on in, I can’t wait to show you around.

Let’s start here in the living/dining room.  I’ve used some of my summer decor and added a touch of warm and cozy as I ease into Fall.  The pumpkins havn’t come out to play yet, but leopard, feathers and mums speak warm and cozy to me.   Switching a couple of pillows and changing a few accessories is all that’s needed to welcome in the hint of fall.

Adding a touch of leopard always makes a space feel cozy.

Keeping with the theme of nature.

I’ve had a love affair with feathers lately.  They mix in well with bits and pieces of nature.

I swapped out my flowering branches for feathers in the dining area too.

This adds some warmth to this end of the room along with setting up a bar on the buffet.

Most of you are styling and dressing your bar carts.  I don’t have room for one, but a tray on the buffet works great, and a diy monogram crystal bowl makes the perfect ice bucket.

Ready for cooler temps and fall parties.

I like for my rooms to flow, especially since our house is small, so as you pass through the living room, you enter right into the family/breakfast/kitchen area.  Orange is one of my favorite colors, so I added a little to the family area.

I love the combination of taupe and silver, so unexpected, but so pretty.  Of course to me if you add in a touch of orange, then it is all fabulous.

The breakfast area table is dressed with a little silver and brown also.

The hall bathroom is finally finished with it’s new makeover.  If you followed along, first I redid our vanity with Gel Stain, and did an inspiration board showing lots of gold and pretty brown and white.   When that didn’t work out, I went with black/white and Ikat.  That seemed a little stark and way too contemporary for me, so I finally have a black and white bathroom done “my way”.  Not to traditional, not to contemporary, just me.

I had bright shocking pink in the Master Bedroom for summer, so I went the opposite with calm and serene for fall.

Taupe and silver go well with my black and white bedding and I love the lace and leather pillow.

The dresser is really simple with just a couple of boxes, a tray and bouquet of white roses.

Since I did the closet makeover for the ORC this year, it has been one of my favorite spaces in the whole house.

My primping spot is where I try out different accessories and play dress up.

I like to put together a “go to” outfit for every season.  Something that I know will always work.  This year I chose one of my favorite blouses, tan, silver and white.  I paired it with beige trousers and gold & agate jewelry.

Always looks good and ready to go.

Thanks for stopping by, I loved having you here.  If you would like to see more,  I would love to have you follow along to see all of my latest diy’s and adventures.  You can see my 2015 Summer Home Tour here.

Next up is Sarah from Life On Virgina Street.  You are going to love her and her beautiful home.  I love how she spices up a neutral background with her accessories and a touch of color.

After you visit with Sarah, be sure to see the rest of today’s tours.

Snazzy Little Thing

Jeanette has been busy adding tons of architectural interest to her home and wow, wait until you see her decor too.

Barbara is queen of thrifty.  She always shares chic and elegant for pennies. That floral arrangement is gorgeous and I am drooling over that swan.

Peaceful Home Decor

Kelly’s love of white proves a home can be warm and inviting without using tons of color.  She has mastered the subtle use of texture and pattern.

 Claire Brody Designs

I adore mixing patterns and Claire does it better than most.  Her home is full of stunning flair and creativity, inside and out.
