Simple Decor Changes From Season to Season. If you have followed me for a while, you know that I like to gradually redo a room. I like to keep a few things I am currently using, swap out a few pieces for something new and more seasonal, and create an up-to-date space that fits the season we are in. I think with this room I can show you how to update it from Season to Season with very few changes. This was my 2023 Summer Home Tour – My Home.
I need to take a look at this room and see what says Summer and what could also say Fall. What can I add or take away to make a change that reflects the upcoming Fall season? I still like the color scheme. The soft rust and gray will work for Fall, but some of the accessories have to change. Out with the purse, summer sandals, and straw hat. I could keep the gray theme going by just swapping out a couple of pillows.
This looks more like fall but I think I kind of miss the rust color.
If I change pillows again to something else, like the Blessed pillow, then I have the feeling of Fall.
I still have the soft rusty color that I like too. This creates the feeling of the Blessings of the Holidays.
I also changed out the basket vignette on the coffee table for a simple plant and candle. The orange candle in the glass hurricane creates a simple informal vignette that carries the rust color onto the table.
The Blessed Pillow is plaid on the back, so I could simply turn it around and have another different look.
Adding more masculine items to the coffee table instead of the candle hurricane has a more moody and masculine feel.
I still want more of the rusty orange color for Fall, so I need to go back to that look. I love the rusty color but I do like the gray too, so maybe a pretty gray hurricane candle on the coffee table.
This works and I like it, I am just craving more of the rusty orange color.
It’s fun to switch out a few things to create a totally new look instead of changing the whole room.
See what you can swap out instead of changing your whole room too? It’s fun and you may find a look you never thought of before.
