I love, love, love Shavonda’s color sense. It is so fun and cheerful. I am delighted to be able to have her as my feature today on Show Off & Inspire. A Home Full Of Color is the perfect name for her blog. It describes her perfectly. She is definitley one person that is not afraid to use color to create a beautifully unique space for her family. Hi Everyone!
My name is Shavonda, and I’m the voice behind the blog, A Home Full Of Color. I was honored when Marty asked me to come hang out on A Stroll Thru Life today. She’s such a sweetheart and I’m absolutely thrilled to be here.
A Home Full Of Color is where I blog about my love of colorful, eclectic design, and how I infuse it into our home. My family and I live in Sacramento, CA, and we recently sold our first home in an effort to downsize and live a more simple life. We are about two weeks away from closing on our next home, which is a much smaller fixer upper in need of some TLC and a serious infusion of color. We’ve been in our temporary apartment for about a month and a half, so we are beyond excited to get back into the swing of homeownership.
Our first home was a builder grade property in a typical planned neighborhood. The outside looked so much like all the other homes in the community, and it drove me nuts! Although I couldn’t change the fact that I had the same house as about 15 others on the outside, I was determined to make it as unique as possible on the inside….starting with the front door.
The teal color gave the perfect impression of what was going on inside!
A bold striped wall was a must for the entryway…oh and neon! What can I say, Im an 80’s baby! #longliveneon
I have a major case of a little disease I call rearrangitis. Some of you may be familiar?! Things are in constant movement around our house. Its not that I’m indecisive, ‘Im just sayin…if things weren’t meant to be moved around, they wouldn’t come with legs and wheels, right?! Our game/homework table moved several times before it finally made its home in the front room.
I’m not a fan of white walls, which is a major negative of being in the apartment right now. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by color, so I tried to infuse our house with plenty of it.
From the mint stenciled kitchen floors….
to the coral ceilinged hall, color was everywhere.
Including outdoors…
We were only in our house for 3 years, so there were many, many projects we never got around to completing. Our next house offers a completely blank slate and we fully intend to fill it with beautiful, colorful spaces.
