Living Room Makeover Begins

You all saw my Idea Board for my living room makeover and I shared my Trip to Ikea to look at drapes, so I am thrilled that it is finally starting.

Seems like any kind of makeover really creates chaos.  First up was to pull the existing drapes down and pack away carefully in a plastic bin.  Then wipe down the walls carefully, clean the blinds really good, and wash the windows inside and out.

Now that the walls and windows are really clean, I vacuumed the carpets again.  Time to press the new drapes.

OK, one panel up.  I like the texture of the material, it does look like linen when the light shines through.

Wow, this looks really different.  It always takes me a while to get used to something new.

Hum, I have to live with this for a few days.

This was before – – –

and now. – – –  Do these look just too plain?  I need to think about this.

I pulled all the pillows out of the family room to see how versatile this could be.  I am still a little under-impressed.  I definitely need to live with this for a while.

Ok, what do you think?  Are they too plain or do I need to do something else?  My sofa is cream and these are really white – not so sure they look good together.  I really do love the lighter feel of the room.

Be honest folks, this is really very under-whelming!!!  I need some straight talk, I am about to take these back, but like I said, I always have to live with change a while.
