New Color Scheme for the Family Room

I love making pillows and changing accessories to create a different look and with a new sewing machine, of course I definitely had to sew up some new colors and fabrics. I found some really fun fabrics, checks, polka dots, leopard, a big floral and a solid. All of that worked for a super fun new look.

This is the color scheme that has been in the room for a while, and I love it, just time for a change.

I like for my living/dining and family/breakfast area to have some visual continuity since they are open to each other, but I don’t think they have to have the exact same color scheme. The check fabric is what I am using the unify and tie the two spaces together.

I also used the check as the runner on the breakfast table. You can see the check in the living/dining post here. I used a lot of green as my accent color in those areas.

The accent color I am using this time is a soft camel/pumpkin color. I loved the floral fabric I found and then just picked several other fabrics to coordinate.

I love to find one fabric and then just use it as the jumping off point for a whole collection of fabrics.

A small polka dot and an animal print just added fun.

Here is a close up of those two fabrics, they really show up like this in person, just not so much in the pic.

Fun new change and I had a ball using my new sewing machine.
