Show Off and Inspire – Dwellings – The Heart Of Your Home

This week I am just super thrilled to have Cindy @ Dwellings – The Heart Of Your Home here so I can Show off and Inspire you with her fabulous talents.  I love her style and everything she does, but there is one room in particular of hers that I just especially love.  It’s her Laundry Room.

Now most laundry rooms leave a ton to be desired no matter what we do, but this one is just so pretty and has so many charming details about it, that I just love it.

Instead of paint, she wallpapered the cabinets, now how creative is that.  She found matching fabric for the sink skirt and the valance on the door.

Don’t you love her choice of accessories with the plates, the shelf, lamp and other accessories.

She even found this fabulous drying rack for all those things that you don’t want to put in the dryer.

I think you’ll have to agree, this is really a fabulous laundry room.

This is the front of her home, I am so envious of that fabulous porch.  They just redid it and you can see that post here.  Wouldn’t you just love to sit in one of those rockers and pass the time away.  This just reminds me of an old Southern Plantation.

Her entry is gorgeous.  I love her beautiful glass front doors.

She is such a master at mixing colors and patterns.  Love the prints in this bedroom.

Doesn’t her dining room look like it belongs in a lovely old Southern home.  I can just imagine fabulous meals served here with soft candlelight, gentle music and friendly conversation.  That chandy is stunning.  Be sure to see the whole post.

There’s even a beautiful screened porch.

I
want to thank you so much for featuring my home.  Here’s a little about me.

My
inspiration for home and garden I would have to say originated with my
grandparents. Granny’s home was small but full of antique furnishings, ticking
clocks, floral wool rugs, and porcelain figurines. It was pretty, warm and
comfortable. I am so thankful to now have many of her pieces in my home. She
and my grandfather were gardeners and I loved following along and helping them
string those green beans.

Style
changes? My style hasn’t changed much. I may incorporate hints of a trend but
my style comes from my love of historic homes, antiques, and family keepsakes.
The history of a piece and the well-worn inspire me.

Projects.
I love to sew and have made many window treatments, table skirts and pillows.
I’m enjoying chalk paint and have been doing quite a bit of repurposing for my
shop. My main focus for a while now has been planning our guest bath, front
porch and double door remodels. We have many other remodeling projects in the
planning stages. Our home is 40 years old and we have lived here for 12 years.
She has the flair of an old Georgian Colonial and is a bit well-worn, so we are
excited to move forward with projects that will bring out this part of her
character.

About
me….(wow, this is hard…how to sum me up?
J
) I love the Lord and so thankful for his love, grace and mercy! My family is
my heart, I love fluffing our nest, and have a great time with my gift &
antique shop…Dwellings.
