Copy Cat Love

They say that copying is the greatest form of flattery.  I definitely think so.  Debbie is having another one of her fabulous Copy Cat Parties, and of course I want to play.

I actually copied two people with this.

Melanie @ My Sweet Savannah created this fabulous basket to hold all of her kitchen necessities and keep clutter down.  I think it is stunning, and such a fabulous way to have everything you need right at hand.

Seems she was copying someone too.  Heather Bullard Lifestyle created this unreal corner in her kitchen, and Melanie loved it so she created her own.  Melanie thinks it is flattering to copy too.

Well, I am totally in love with both of them, so this is my version.

I just loved the shelves on the wall in Heather’s picture, they look amazing and there’s plenty of room there for her to create even more storage.  I saw some wine bottle carriers and other storage ideas while I was browsing the internet hunting for inspiration.  This hanging fruit basket is a great piece in curved iron  from IVG Stores, is a great accent piece to hang on the wall and it would look fabulous on the wall where she has plants hanging on the wall..

Ok back to the task at hand, I don’t have room for open shelves, but I do love the idea and this basket and I couldn’t help but think of it when I saw her picture.

My pig cutting board is fairly new, so it is not nearly as aged as I would like it to be.  The heart one I have had for 40 yrs. or so.  Love the patina it has taken on.   I just threw out all of my wood spoons too, they were not looking too good, but the new ones look really strange with no scars, scuffs or color.  Oh well, won’t be long.

I love to change up this corner and this one is so fun.  I think I need to add to the cutting board collection, what about you, what do you collect.

I know this is a little off subject, but I have a question.  You have all seen my island, what do you think about me adding a pot rack.  I have seen several that either fit on the wall or hang above islands that are fabulous.  I think this is fabulous for the wall and I would like something similar to this but designed to hang over my island.  I saw several different ones from IVG Stores.

My question is, will this make my kitchen look too closed in since it is a U shape and the island is all that keeps it open.

Oh, well, just some thoughts.  Anyway I do like the basket and the cutting boards on display.  They are fun and I am definitely on the hunt for more cutting boards to display.  This has been a fun Copy Cat to do.
