I found a dresser and I am so thrilled. Remember this one that I saw at J &K Furn. and loved, but the two bottom drawers were broken and needed to be completely rebuilt. Well, I found one almost identical to it. I didn’t have my camera, but it is close enough to be this one’s twin. I am so excited, I can’t wait to get it home and start to work on it. It needs to be refinished, but that is fine.
It goes so well with the nightstand that I found. Not matchy, matchy, but close enough to look good together.
Remember this night stand that I found and refinished. I think the two will be great together.
We just picked it up and I swear it is the twin to the first one. Love, love, love it. I just couldn’t quit thinking about that first one, so I am super thrilled to find this piece. Gorgeous antique hardware, fluted posts on the sides, beautiful dovetail drawers and made by Drexel. Great find.
Some pretty bad scrapes on the top, but I’ll take care of that. I may be able to touch up the base and just refinish the top, we’ll have to see.
When we started to load it, something rattled inside. This clock was wrapped up in the bottom drawer. What an ornate and different piece. Brass and super heavy. I don’t think I have ever seen anything quite like it. I chuckled when they told me the clock wasn’t included in the price of the chest, I asked how much, then I really chuckled when they said $9. Why not, this way it keeps them together. Wonder who in the world use to own both.
So for now the clock found a home on the end table in the living room. I am sure this will be a conversation piece. lol
Don’t you love it when you find just the piece that you’ve been looking for.
