Bedroom Redo Started

The first part of redoing any room is a plan and then getting all the dirty stuff done such as painting.  The master bedroom got a fresh coat of paint, a soft beige with a camel undertone called Fioli Antique Lace.  It is the same color I have used throughout most of the house.  A super neutral that goes with any color.  So now the fun can begin.

Hubby helped me get the new headboard up.  I love it and am so thrilled with how the wood trim turned out.  It looks so nice and so much better than the old padded one that I had.

Remember how it looked when I bought it.  Much better with the new finish don’t you think?

This is the padded one that I made when we moved in, ok, but nothing special.

Several expressed concern about the fabric pattern on the headboard, it looked so much more predominant with all the closeup pictures that I was taking to show the wood and how I distressed it, but actually it is not dominate at all, it just sort of fades into the background. Pictures are so deceiving, in real life it is a really dark chocolate brown and camel beige.

This is the color of the paint, so it goes really well with the accent color in the headboard fabric and looks great with the fabric color on the settee.  Nice background to work with.

I moved the wicker chair out of the room, so now I can see just how much room I have for a new nightstand.  I think I can use a small dresser with no problem.

I havn’t hung any of the pictures back yet, I want to wait and see what I find for the end tables and then I can accessorize.  I am going to need some new pillows and some plants and etc. to finish things off.

The way the light was shining on the headboard, you can’t really see the distressing in the picture.  There really is some and it shows up really well in real life.

I have been shopping for the new night stands, but I havn’t found what I want yet.  I am still thinking maybe a small dresser on one side and a nightstand on the other side.  Also a new accent color.  Maybe a soft turquoise and how about some new drapes.  Bedding too?  Ok, I better stop!!!!!!

So fun to try and pull a new room together.    Are you working on a new look?
