Flowers From The Yard

I am joining the lovely Liz @ Rose Vignettes for Fresh Cut Friday.  She hosts this fun party on the first Friday of every month to encourage us to treat ourselves to a bouquet of flowers.  The flower this month is Daisy, however, I don’t have any in the yard, so I am using what’s blooming now.

My roses have been blooming like mad, last week I had about a dozen.  I love looking at them outside the bedroom window, but sometimes I want to bring a few inside.  All of my vases were huge so I was on the lookout for something pretty but small.  Of course my GW came through with flying colors.  I thought this one was stunning with all of the beautiful cut design on it.

When I picked it up I was amazed at how heavy it is and then I saw something sticking out under the price tab and I knew it was a definite treasure.

I had to blow this up so you could see it.  Such a tiny little sticker.  I found a decanter last week with the same sticker on it.  I always wonder if the same person donated both when I see similar and really beautiful treasures.  Towle crystal is always so beautiful the way they cut their designs.

So, I cut a couple of my roses and a couple of yellow mexican bird of paradise flowers.  I think they are pretty together with the yellow and the green, plus the mexican bird will continue to open for several days.

Cheery small bouquet for the kitchen.

Fresh flowers just always make me smile, how about you?
