This year I really wanted everything to be pared – down, so I left most of the decor as is and just added a few items to create a simple and I think elegant Christmas.
I will be so Blessed to have all of my children here together for Christmas for the first time in 15 years this year. I really wanted the tree to be the star of the show since it always was when they were small, so I kept all the other decor to a minimum.
Our tree is a very old fashioned one filled with heirloom ornaments and ones that have been collected for years.
It is filled with angels, doves, toys and ornaments gathered over the last 50 yrs.
The chest in the front window showcases my favorite Santa. I have a really small collection, and this was my first and largest, so he is really special. All the Santa’s in my header are part of my small collection. I love that he has a tree, a big bag of gifts and a horn tied on his sash.
A couple of beaded ornaments to finish the vignette.
I left the coffee table just as it was, and just added a gold gild reindeer.
A simple bow is all he needs. I love his all over scroll detail.
The end table showcases another of my Santa’s and a Christmas floral arrangement.
The dining area has just some minor changes as well as the buffet.
I added my Nativity scene to the cloche and a few ribbon loops to the floral arrangement. A Wise man, angels and a cow from the manger surround Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus.
My smallest Santa was placed on the buffet. I thought the gold on his robe went with the gilt of the fruit arrangement.
The wreath hanging above the buffet has gold gilt ribbon and a large gold ornament.
An evergreen garland with poinsettia’s and glittered fruit on top of the china cabinet.
A simple Christmas ready for the Blessings of family and friends.
This has been such a fun week and I have so enjoyed the Christmas Blogger Block Party.
