Best of 2019

I love that my home has a really neutral base, all-white walls, and neutral furnishings.  This makes it so easy to change accessories and have a different look in minutes.  I thought it would be fun to look back at all the different ways the same rooms have looked this year.  No architectural changes or major furniture piece changes, just swapping out accessories for a whole new look. (you can click on any room link to see how all the changes took place.)

We started off the new year by taking the tree down and putting the house back together.  I love it when all the “stuff” is put away, all the glitter is cleaned up, and we can put a new spin on every room in the house.

(If you want to create a similar look, I’ve added links to the items in my home (or similar if mine are not available).

My first redo for 2019 was a Cozy Winter Home Tour

The Living Room is always a favorite place to change things up a bit.  I wanted warm and cozy so I added some fur and animal prints.

Since there had been so much color for Christmas, I kept things really neutral with black, beige and cream for the Family Room.

With Spring in mind, the Living Room got a few changes again.

The Family Room was warmed up for Spring with some pretty yellow tones.

The Living Room was totally changed with the 2019 Spring Home Tour.

I changed up the living room again for Easter.

After Easter I changed up the Living Room with a small change I called – Spring Into Summer.

For June and the 2019 Summer Home Tour, I changed things up for a much more casual Farmhouse Vibe.

Then I thought it was time to show how just a couple of pillow swaps could totally change a room from Farmhouse to Transitional.

The Family Room got a makeover with Two Thrifted Wicker Chairs.  This totally changed the look & feel of the room.

Our two recliners both broke in one day, so when we bought two new recliners, it was time for another change in the Family Room.  I did a post called Easing Into Fall.  The wicker chairs also left the scene and were replaced with two pretty french style chairs.

Now it is September and time for the 2019 Fall Home Tour.  The Living Room was my feature.

Then in October I shared how I was Embracing Fall by adding all the pretty fall colors to the living room.

Right before Thanksgiving, Christmas 2019 started to fill the whole house.

2019 Christmas Home Tour

The family room took on a Child’s expression of Christmas.  We used tons of plaid and added all the old fashioned ornaments from years past and ones the children made to our tree.

2019 Holiday Tour of Homes

This has been such a fun year of decorating and changing things in our home.  I think this house has really started to reflect us and that is a GOOD THING.  It will be fun to change things up all over again next year, so stay tuned.

Amazing how you transformed your home so simply with the textiles. That’s my MO going forward, too, in our new, smaller space living. Seeing your seasonal changes was like flipping a color fan deck with all your choices, very nice. I also love your chair swaps and how you eventually ended up with the recliners in the family room. A great year of life and living, Marty. Happy New Year!
