Catching a really bad cold and bronchitis a few days after Christmas really took me down for the count. Fever, chills, and aches meant I got nothing done. Finally getting the decor down, packed away and the house cleaned a little after the first was a chore. It seemed like I just couldn’t get my decor mojo in gear and I had zero energy, so things sat really sterile for a few days. I am so much better now, so time to start on the kitchen. A really good cleaning ( why is it glitter seems to be everywhere – I didn’t use that many things with glitter in the first place ). Now to the fun stuff – A Cozy Winter Kitchen
I spend a ton of time in the kitchen, it is my favorite room in the house since our remodel and I love adding some fun accessories. I got a couple of things for Christmas for the kitchen and breakfast area, so of course, I had to display them.
I try to keep the counters fairly clean, just a few things that are fun to look at and useful. My brass tray holds all my day to day essentials in a really chic and fashionable way. I try to create something interesting in the corner by the mixer too.
Love this cute new camel butter dish. So fun and whimsical. Hubby has been enjoying his Christmas Port every night too, so I’ve kept it on the counter.
I kept the coffee and Hot Chocolate Tray on the other side of the range. We really did use it through the holidays and I am sure we will through winter too.
The island got a new tray vignette. I adore my cute little drunk chef, so he stayed. A small ivy and a stack of dishes with a cheese cloche finish off the tray. Minimal but fun.
The tray decor adds to the pretty white that I used for the kitchen table.
A white fruit topiary, two white finials, and some pretty greenery create a simple centerpiece down the center of the farmhouse table.
I set the table with two of my Christmas Gifts. I love this pretty new gold flatware set from my daughter. The slim lines are so elegant.
I paired them with new gold-rimmed plates. A really simple but elegant setting.
Nothing over the top, just a pretty and inviting farmhouse tablescape to complete my Cozy Winter Kitchen.
Now that I am feeling better, I finally put together the living and dining areas too. A final cleaning and we will be almost put back together. Be sure to check back in on Tuesday for a look at my Cozy Winter Tour living/dining rooms. I will be joining a great group of ladies to share some inspirational ideas to create your perfect Cozy Winter Home.

That all looks great! I’ve never seen the angle showing your pantry before. Sorry you caught “the cold” we had it too around Christmas. Love your dining table!
Have always loved your kitchen and wowed re the transformation when this was shared……..hubby won’t let me paint anything oak in the house so I’m trying to work around this in my decorating. As you can imagine, back when our house was built (1995) we paid ‘dear’ for all the oak in here. A year ago I used wrapping paper as backdrop to the built in bookcases we had made, and get many compliments and I love the look!
Oh I do remember paying extra for the maple in my last house too, now I am loving my little white kitchen. Those oak cabinets were once all the rage, but not so much anymore. Hang in there, everything is coming around again. Marty
Sorry you were not feeling great. There is so much sickness everywhere. Glad you are starting to feel better. Love always seeing your pretty kitchen.

same thing happened to me Marty. It took me down for most of last week. took days to get my Christmas decor put away and back together for “winter”. glad you’re feeling better!
So sorry you caught this awful stuff too. I know, it took us a week to get the Christmas put away Glad you are better now too. Marty
Sorry you haven’t been feeling well. It reminded me that I use to get an URI every year at Christmas It was the strangest thing.
I never put up a real Christmas tree, so I would get the tree trimmings so the house would smell good. I am so allergist to trees. That had to stop. Love the kitchen-so cheerful and bright.
HI Marty Glad you are feeling better. Being sick over the holidays is rough! I love your brass tray! And, your light fixture over the kitchen table caught my eye! We have had a very mild winter in Denver but we need a little snow in the city!
Happy Monday!
Your kitchen definitely is cozy! I love your tray decor and your pretty table setting. Glad you are feeling better. My younger son had the flu last week and ended up in the ER for fluids and a chest xray. Luckily no pneumonia and he’s feeling much better now. It was a scary week though…can’t wait for spring!
